  • 1/2 white onion
  • 1 lb. ground pork
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1/2 tsp. of chili powder, divided
  • 1 tsp. of cumin seeds
  • 1/2 cup plain breadcrumbs

How to prepare

  1. Finely dice the onion then combine it in a bowl with the meat, garlic, half of the chili powder (1/4 teaspoon), cumin seeds, breadcrumbs, egg and salt.
  2. Shape mixture into balls. Heat the oil in a frying pan and cook the meatballs over high heat for a few minutes on each side, until cooked through.
  3. Meanwhile, heat the tomatoes in a sauce pan with the remaining 1/4 teaspoon chili powder and a generous sprinkling of salt. Add the cooked meatballs to the sauce for a few minutes to allow flavors to combine. Serve hot and garnish with chopped cilantro.
